On International E-Waste Day 2025Elektronikos perdirbimas joined the campaign to raise awareness about responsible management of electronic waste.

During the broadcast “What is Your CO₂ Footprint?” on Žinių radijas, our Managing Director Izaura Jasinskienė talked about how screens, monitors, and televisions are dismantled in our facility in Vievis. Each dismantled device reduces environmental risks and helps ensure that valuable materials can be reused instead of ending up as waste.

International E-Waste Day is about more than recycling. It is an opportunity to inform communities, encourage people to dispose of electronics responsibly, and prevent hazardous components from entering the environment.

Why this matters:

  • Screens often contain mercury, lead, and other hazardous substances.
  • Safe dismantling prevents pollution of soil and water.
  • Recovered materials reduce the need for new raw material extraction.

Through our work in Vievis, we contribute to what is often called urban mining – turning discarded electronics into a resource that can be used again.
