The international E-Waste World Conference & Expo took place in Frankfurt, Germany, on 17–18 June 2026, bringing together professionals from across the global electronics recycling industry, including technology providers, manufacturers, researchers and policymakers. The event focused on the key issues shaping e-waste management, the circular economy and the conservation of critical raw materials.
At the conference, Izaura Jasinskienė, Managing Director of Elektronikos perdirbimas, presented the company’s hands-on experience in flat panel display (FPD) recycling.
The presentation compared different FPD recycling methods, including automated processing, mechanical shredding and manual dismantling, highlighting their impact on resource conservation, hazardous substance removal and the quality of recycling.
Based on more than a decade of practical experience, the presentation highlighted that this waste stream requires a different approach than most other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Without proper dismantling prior to mechanical shredding, valuable materials become mixed, the separation of hazardous components is significantly more difficult, and some materials lose their value for recycling.
Participation in one of Europe’s leading e-waste conferences provided an opportunity not only to showcase the expertise built over more than a decade, but also to contribute to the international discussion on more effective e-waste management solutions and the advancement of the circular economy.
